Hi:

 

Your notebook's M.2 slot supports both NVMe and SATA M.2 SSD's.

 

NVMe SSD's have faster read/write speeds than SATA SSD's have.

What is the best way to migrate the old hdd over to a new m.2 ssd?

I have only done that once because for me since I don't have a lot of programs and files to reinstall on new drives, I clean install Windows and reinstall my programs and files.

 

The one time I have cloned a drive was by using the free Macrium Reflect utility...the program on the left side of the page under the Backup at Home section.
