I would like to upgrade my hard drive to an SSD. My laptop currently has an HGST HTS721010A9E630 drive.
questions: will any SSD drive fit?
Can I upgrade to a 2tb drive or am I limited to 1TB?
Is there a second slot that will allow me to move the current drive and use it as additional/secondary storage?
Thanks

You can replace the hard drive with a 2.5 inch SATA SSD. It is a straight even-up swap, using the same mounting hardware. You would roughly triple the read speed of data from the storage. Or, there is an M.2 slot to install a 2280 form factor "gumstick" SSD using the NVME protocol. This would increase the data read speed by 8 or 9 times. You can install a 2 TB disk of either type or both for that matter.
