I am unsure to what capacity the memory card slot will support/read the SD card in my laptop. Can anyone confirm so that I can buy the SD card accordingly?

That is not a specification that I ever recall seeing in the thousands of HP Maintenance & Service guides I have read through.

The specification for the memory card types for your laptop are:

HP Multi-Format Digital Media Card Reader

Supports SD/SDHC/SDxC

The highest capacity I have ever used is 128GB micro SDxC.

It appears that the question was asked about an Omen laptop back in 2015 and an HP Employee PC expert said 128 GB.

The thread author marked it as a solution.

A 256GB SDxC card may work.

Make sure it is an SDxC class 10 since SD cards of all types are quite slow compared to SSD products.
