Dear HP Customer Support,

I am writing to report a very serious and urgent issue with my HP laptop. While charging, the device overheated, causing the battery to explode. This not only rendered my laptop completely unusable but also caused significant damage to my couch. Thankfully, no one was injured, but the incident was extremely dangerous and could have resulted in severe harm.

Details of the issue:

  • Laptop Model: HP Pavilion - 14-bk069sa

    Product 2FN67EA

    Serial (edited)

  • Description of Incident: The laptop became excessively hot while charging. Shortly after, the battery exploded, leading to a fire hazard and major damage to surrounding furniture.

Given the seriousness of this matter, I request immediate assistance. Please advise on the following:

  1. The next steps to address the defective device.
  2. Compensation or coverage for the damage caused.
  3. Safety measures HP is taking to prevent such dangerous malfunctions.

I would appreciate an urgent response, as this issue poses a serious safety risk

Many thanks

Ella

First and foremost, I want to sincerely apologize for the incident you experienced with your laptop. I’m relieved to hear that no one was injured, but I completely understand how distressing this must have been, especially with the damage to your property. Your safety is our top priority, and we take this matter extremely seriously.

For now, please do not attempt to power on or recharge the laptop. If possible, place the device in a safe, non-flammable area away from people and valuables.

We will escalate this issue to our product safety team right away. HP has strict safety protocols, and incidents like this are investigated thoroughly to prevent recurrence.

Most importantly, can you please confirm once again that everyone in your household is safe and unharmed? And could you let us know the extent of the property damage .
