Hi @7Z796PA,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are facing an issue with your Victus by HP laptop is experiencing intermittent USB connection issues that are affecting multiple peripherals, audio output, and system stability.

Here are some steps to help diagnose and resolve the issue:

1. Check Device Manager for USB Errors

  • Press Win + X and select Device Manager.
  • Expand the Universal Serial Bus controllers section.
  • Look for any devices with a yellow triangle or error message, especially near your USB devices. Right-click and select Uninstall Device if you see any error. Then, restart the laptop to let Windows reinstall the drivers.

2. Update USB Drivers

  • In Device Manager, right-click each USB driver under Universal Serial Bus controllers and select Update driver.
  • Choose Search automatically for updated driver software.
  • Also, visit HP's support site and download the latest chipset and USB drivers for your laptop model.

3. Run Windows Troubleshooter for Hardware and Devices

  • Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Additional troubleshooters.
  • Select Hardware and Devices and Run the troubleshooter. Follow the on-screen instructions to resolve any detected issues.

4. Check Power Management Settings for USB

  • In Device Manager, right-click on each USB Root Hub (in Universal Serial Bus controllers) and go to Properties > Power Management.
  • Uncheck Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power for each USB Root Hub.

5. Update BIOS and Windows

  • Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and install all available updates.
  • Check HP’s website for any BIOS or firmware updates for your Victus model, as these can sometimes resolve hardware compatibility issues.

6. Test USB Devices Individually

  • Connect your USB devices one at a time to see if a specific device causes the issue to reoccur.
  • If any USB device triggers the issue, try using it on another computer to confirm if the device itself might be faulty.

7. Run System File Checker and DISM Commands

  • Open Command Prompt as an administrator.
  • Run the following commands one by one:
    • sfc /scannow
    • DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
  • These commands can repair any corrupted system files that may be affecting your USB, audio, or general stability.

8. Check for Overheating or Power Supply Issues

  • Overheating can sometimes cause USB issues and freezing. Ensure that your laptop has proper airflow.
  • If you’re using external peripherals that draw a lot of power, try disconnecting them temporarily to see if the issue persists.
