Hi Community and Support,

 

My laptop battery is swollen (and is pushing up/open the actual casing - the track pad is not clicking as it should because of this).

 

Due to COVID-19 and some logistical challenges it will take me a little while to acquire a new battery. If I remove the swollen battery (out of safety concerns) until the new one arrives, will I still be able to plug in and use my laptop? (As long as it is plugged in)

You can use your machine without battery. The downside is when main power suddenly lost, you may get unpredictable damages, specially HDD.

 

I actually has a machine like this for few years now

 

  bat dead.png

But I connect it to an UPS therefore I've got at least 10 mins to shut down my machine properly.
