HP Recommended

Do I have to use the M2 that hp provides if I want to add one to my notebook?  I want to add an M2 to my laptop as the boot drive but the only one that hp officially says will work is like $150.  I can find one on amazon that’s $20 but I’ve heard that you have to use the one that hp says to.  Is this true?  Because $150 is too much.

What is your machine ? Is it an Pavilion x360 11m-ad013xd or Pavilion x360 11m-ad013dx ? It DOES NOT have M.2 slot.
