HP Pavillon 14BF0XX
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

HP Pavillon 14BF support USB-C Gen1 according to specifications.

Yet I am unable to make it work with a USB-C hub from  a manufacturer called Selore.

I tried the hub on 2 phones (Huawei, and xiaomi), on a Huawei Bookmate it worked as a charm (even using a Linux OS)

But  not on this HP.

Lan is OK, Power is ok, USB are working on the HP.

But not the video.

Do you have any idea on why?

The ad kind of says it all in the buried fine print:

Need to confirm that your host device supports video output or DP Alt Mode, and you can normally see the DP-logo next to the port if this is the case, NOT for all USB-C port laptop, this usb c docking station CAN NOT work with HP Pavilion/EliteBook

Your usb-C port is data only so all the regular stuff works but not video. This hub you bought only passes through a video signal riding on the USB-C signal. Your laptop does not have that. You need a dock/hub with DisplayLink. It will cost quite a bit more.
