I had plugged in my laptop to charger today and it said 0% plugged in. I kept it to charge a little and checked that it was not moving past 0. So, I ran a Battery Check in HP PC Hardware Diagnostics.
The test failed and told me to replace battery. It also said something about BLOWN_FUSE.
So, now I am not planning to replace the battery for a few months and going to use laptop just on AC power. Is it okay to have the dead battery inside laptop while using it on AC power?
NOTE: The LED indicator is not off and is orange but the battery is not increasing past 0.

I reviewed your post and I understand that the battery is not getting charged and you want to know whether it is safe to use the computer with the AC adapter.
Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.
You can go ahead and use the computer with the AC adapter. However, as the battery is gone bad, I recommend you remove it from the computer as it might start swelling and can cause damage to other components.
Also, try updating the BIOS from the below link and check whether it helps in charging the battery again.

Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!

I've updated the BIOS but unfortunately it didn't work. So I removed the battery. But now a small problem has occurred. Each time I boot my computer a CMOS Reset (502) error is displayed and on pressing Enter the laptop boots as normal.
Aa long as the power cable is connected, on subsequent restarts, it boots normally. But once I remove the power cord and again connect it to my laptop and boot the error appears again. I think the CMOS cell is getting reset due to the removal of battery.
So what to do next?

Replace the Cmos battery LOL his battery is fried and he just said he could not replace it, his cmos battery is the laptop battery . so to replace the cmos battery you would need to replace that laptop battery . then your error should leave.

So the main battery also powers the CMOS battery. If the main battery is not charging then how can it power the BIOS. Strange!
If the BIOS can't work without a battery, then using laptop just on AC power won't be worth it. Any workarounds to this until I get a new battery?
