I have a HP ZBook 15u G3 Base Model Mobile Workstation has bios N75 Ver. 01.14 - 04/12/2017. The pc is running Windows 11. The machine has TPM 1.2 . I have seen a blog which steps through updating this to 2.0. The recommendation is to upgrade the bios to the latest version and this is where I have a problem. There is a HP bios update called April 2023 BIOS refresh which appears to apply to this model. According to the release notes, it is needed to be able to update TPM as well as fixing a screen flicker which I do get. However, when I run HP Support Assistant or driver update under System Firmware in Device Manager, it says there is no update available.
I feel that I should be updating my bios with this release but I am very reluctant to do so in fear of bricking the pc. Is there anyone who may know that it is alright to do this or maybe another member who has already carried out the update?
The release notes also state that you cannot roll back from this update so I'm really quite concerned so any help or advice will be greatly received, thank you.
