HP Pavilion 14-bf010na
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

Recently, I have bought a brand new HP laptop (full name: HP Pavilion 14-bf010na). Fantastic purchase as it is a great laptop but there is one thing I am not too sure about.

Some of the ventilation vents are closed while others remain open. My question is, are they supposed to be that way or is this a flaw? Because I can definitely tell that there is an airflow that flows through them and, although no heating or ventilation problems have occured yet, I am afraid that closed vents are making it harder for the laptop to cool.

No that is by design. I have a 13 inch spectre and there is a plastic sheet blocking part of the air vent. Getting the heat managed in one of these thin laptops is a challenge and when you block part of the grille it actually makes the air inside move faster around the obstacles and cools better.
