I got my Victus 15 one year ago and it just died. It is not receiving power. I have tested the AC adapter, battery, and the DC jack inside. All are good so that doesn't leave much else other than probably the motherboard. I bought an extended warranty but have zero ability to talk to anybody at HP about getting this repaired. It keeps redirecting me to paid support. What can I do to just get this paperweight fixed and running again?

Hi @Bhairavananda,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
I’m sorry you’re going through this; I understand the concern and don’t worry I’ll help you with this.
To better understand the issue, could you please provide a few more details?
When you press the power button, do you see any signs of life (LED blink, fan spin, keyboard backlight), or is it completely dead?
Did this failure happen suddenly, or were there warning signs like random shutdowns or overheating before it stopped working?
Here are a few troubleshooting steps worth trying before concluding it’s the motherboard:
- Hard reset: Disconnect the AC adapter, then hold the power button for 30–60 seconds to discharge residual power. Reconnect and try again.
- Check LED indicators: On many HP laptops, the charging LED near the DC jack or keyboard gives clues (steady vs. blinking). A blinking pattern can indicate a hardware fault.
- BIOS recovery: Some HP laptops support BIOS recovery by holding Windows key + B while pressing power. If the BIOS is corrupted, this can sometimes revive the system.
I hope this helps

Thanks for the reply. I tried all those steps but no dice. It shows zero signs of life. I tested the AC adapter as well as used a known good one. No lights at all on the laptop or at the charging port.
This happened suddenly. It randomly said "low battery" in Windows, shut down, and never woke back up.
I also swapped out the DC port in the laptop itself to see if that was the issue, but even with a new one it doesn't have any life at all.
I'm 99% sure the motherboard is the point of failure having eliminated everything else in the power sequence.
The frustrating part for me is I can't order a motherboard from HP. I actually do this for a living, so this is mildly embarrassing, haha. I really just need the part but it's impossible to find at a reasonable price (even used). It's almost the same price as a new laptop in the wild.
