Victus by HP 16.1 inch Gaming Laptop PC 16-d1 (53F51AV)
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Greetings to everyone. I bought an Hp victus 16 laptop 1 year ago and I haven't needed an upgrade so far. But now I want to make my ram slot 2x8gb, which is 8gb 4200mhz. When I looked at the task manager for this, I saw only 1/1 ram slot. When I downloaded and checked the cpu-Z program, it only showed 1 slot again. I couldn't find the exact model of my laptop on hp's site, and I'm also afraid to turn on the computer (my hand is rough, I'm afraid the warranty is gone), so I wanted to write here. Could you please tell me how many ram slots there are, dear forum members?

Pc is  Victus 16-d1055nt (7H8Y9EA)

Hi:

Unfortunately, HP only has the service manual for the older 16-d0xxx model series available.

Maintenance and Service Guide (hp.com)

However, the manual indicates the notebook has two memory slots and can support 2 x 16 GB of memory.

You would have to use DDR5-4800 memory though, not DDR4-3200.

The Crucial memory report indicates the notebook has two memory slots and can support up to 2 x 32 GB of DDR5 memory.

Thank you for the information. So why could windows task manager and cpu-z slot be showing in the form of 1/1?

You're very welcome.

Unfortunately, I would have no idea why it is only reporting one memory slot.

What info do you get when you run the utility that I zipped up and attached below?

only this. It says slot 2 but when i click on it there is no slot 1.  Maybe it will be show up when i plug in new ram?

So, when you click on that drop down arrow in the right of the memory line, you can't select a Bank 1, which should be empty?

There should be two banks, 1 & 2 and the report is only showing a bank 2.
