Hi:

Any Intel processor ending in a 'U' is an integral part of the motherboard and cannot be upgraded unless you replace the motherboard with one listed in chapter 3 of your notebook's service manual that may come with a better processor.

This is usually very expensive if you can even find a motherboard, and not worth the return on investment.

The 12 GB max memory specification listed in chapter 1 of the manual is incorrect.

Your notebook supports 2 x 8 GB of DDR3L memory.

This would be a compatible 8 GB memory chip...

thank you.
but I know that the RAM in slot2 must be equal in size to that of slot1 (in this case 4gb), or is the one you listed okay?

You're very welcome.

You can add the 8 GB Crucial memory chip in the empty slot alongside the existing 4 GB memory chip.

You would then have 12 GB of memory running in single channel mode.

You would need to install 2 x 8 GB of memory for it to run in the higher performing dual channel mode.

If you only want to add another 4 GB memory chip in the empty slot, then you would use this one instead...

Then you would have 8 GB of memory running in dual channel mode.

Memory has to be installed in matching capacities for the memory to run in dual channel mode (2 x 4 GB, 2 x 8 GB).
