Product: HP 15-ay516tx
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)
Hi. I'm a new HP customer and new to the forum.
I bought a HP 15-ay516tx notebook 4 weeks ago. Recently, when I tried running a few games to play on it, I found that the WASD controls DO NOT WORK IN-GAME. The controls work PERFECTLY FINE in other apps such as MS Word, Excel, Notepad, Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Firefox. The controls also seem to work fine on a rare few of the games I played on the notebook.
My Notebook specs :
Windows 10 Pro 64 bit v1703, 4GB RAM, 2GB AMD R5 M430 graphics card, Intel i5- 6200u processor.
Steps I have taken to troubleshoot :
1. Used Windows Troubleshooting.
2. Ran Malwarebytes to ensure there was no malware. 59 threats were hence found and removed but didn't solve the problem.
3. Uninstalled and reinstalled keyboard drivers as well as the mouse driver which, yet, didn't solve the problem.
4. Windows is updated and the drivers are all up-to-date.
5. I have Quick heal Total Security and I ran the scan so there's no issue of any viruses.
6. Sticky keys and Filter keys are TURNED OFF.
7. Tried pressing Fn + W keys, (as suggested in a few internet forums) to no avail.
8. Tried playing those games through an external keyboard that I attached to the notebook via USB. The problem persists, leading me to believe that the problem is with some software.
9. I buy games through Steam and I have ensured that the problem is not on the games' end. The files are intact and these games work fine on my Windows 8 Desktop with no problem with the controls.
10. Tried disabling Quick heal as well as setting the User account control settings to low but it didn't help.
To provide additional details, I will list the name of the games I ran on it in which the controls worked as they should have and the ones in which they did not.
Games in which the controls were fine :
Assassin's Creed 2, Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag, The Witcher 1, Batman : Arkham Asylum.
Games in which they did not work as they should have :
Devil May Cry (DMC), Batman : Arkham City, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 1 and 2.
Please help me identify the problem and get rid of it if any of you can. I would really appreciate it.
Thanks.

Update : Hello, I've found that it was a very teeny tiny problem that was affecting me because of the ANTI-KEYLOGGER function of the Quick heal anti-virus. I have since turned it off and my games work fine.
Thanks.
Anyone, facing the same problem should turn their ANTI-KEYLOGGER's off or better yet check if it's due to keylogger by uninstalling the anti-virus.
P.S. The problem would not go away if you simply disable anti-virus protection.
Thanks.

Hi,
I am facing a similar problem with Arkham Knights. Every key works perfectly except WASD. Can you please tell me how to disable the anti key logger of quick heal as I am unable to find the setting.
Thanks in advance.
