Want to buy an Envy X360 Docking station with maybe be able to use an EGPU

Hi,

i want to Buy an good Docking Station for my Envy X360 from 2008.

It only have USB-C and use this time an very old USB-C G2 Dock.

I thought about to buy an "HP ThunderboldDickingstation 120W" because my Stock PCU Block is charging with 65W

I readed that it would be compatible with USB-C.

Is than a Thundbold connection to an E-GPU with an external Display possible?

I dont want to use an travel Doc, because i use it regular at home.

Hopefully someone could answer me that question.

Does that doc need Power from AC to work like the old G2?

Your model has USB-C with an alt-DisplayPort signal included so will work with USB-C and even a Thunderbolt dock and will provide external monitors support. However, you need true Thunderbolt in order to drive an eGPU. Sonst verstehe Ich die Frage nicht.

Also kann ich das Thunderbold G2 120W nutzen.

Kann ich an dessen Thunderbold Port eine E-GPU anschließen?

Also ein Adapter auf der über Thunderbold eine Grafikkarte aufgesteckt wird, und einen Monitor versorgt. Um Z.B. CAD oder mal ein Spiel darüber laufen zu lassen. Das Envy hat ja bereits eine MX150 aber die hat ja nun mal nicht so viel Power.

Wenn ich meine GTX1080 auf einen E-GPU Adapter stecken könnte, dann müsste ich meine altes FX8350 Blockheizkraftwerk nicht anwerfen.

Es gibt auf Ihre Gerat keine Thunderbolt. Deshalb kann Sie eGPU nicht nutzen.
