I just installed an 8GB kit (2x 4GB) of G. Skill Rip Jaws DDR4 - 2400 Dual Channel SODIMM. I am using an hp255 G6 notebook. The motherboard is an 8330 board. I am wondering if the motherboard is only capable of running single channel. I previously had a kit of 8GB Crucial DDR4-2400 Dual Channel SODIMM installed on this notebook and I was informed that it was running in single channel, using CPU-Z to check. Looking forward to correspondence.

Hi:
According to this detailed review of your notebook, the processor can only run the memory in single channel mode.
HP 255 G6 (A6-9220, Radeon R4) Laptop Review - NotebookCheck.net Reviews
The built-in AMD processor is an A6-9220-APU suitable for simple tasks. The two CPU cores were clocked at 2.5 to 2.9 GHz, consuming 15 Watts of power. The A6-9220 is therefore suitable for light and mobile notebooks. Memory can only be accessed in single-channel mode.
That is not uncommon on notebooks with some AMD processors--even if they have two memory slots.
