Hi @abcd123489353,
Thank you for the response.
Let’s get you set up, upgrading your HP Pavilion 15-cs1000tx to an SSD is one of the best upgrades you can do. Here’s a simple step-by-step guide to help you plan it out:
Check your current storage configuration
Your Pavilion 15-cs1000tx typically comes with:
1 × 2.5" SATA HDD (most common)
1 × M.2 slot for NVMe SSD (many variants have this too!)
How to check?
Open HP Support Assistant or Device Manager → Disk Drives to see if you have an HDD or M.2 SSD already.
Or check your HP manual or look inside the laptop (I can guide you how).
Choose the right SSD
Option A, Replace HDD with 2.5" SATA SSD:
Get a 2.5" SATA SSD (like Samsung 870 EVO, Crucial MX500, WD Blue).
This is the easiest swap if you only have a HDD now.
Option B — Add M.2 NVMe SSD:
If your model has a free M.2 slot, you can add a fast NVMe SSD without removing your HDD.
Look for M.2 2280 NVMe PCIe SSD (Samsung 980, WD SN570, Kingston NV2, Crucial P3, etc.).
Back up your data
Make sure you back up important files first.
If you want to clone your old HDD to SSD, you’ll need a USB-to-SATA cable or M.2 enclosure, plus free software like Macrium Reflect or Acronis True Image.
Install the SSD
Basic steps:
Power off → Unplug adapter → Remove battery (if removable).
Open the back panel (usually 8–12 screws — check your service manual).
For 2.5" SSD: Remove old HDD, place SSD in the same bracket, connect SATA cable.
For M.2: Find the M.2 slot → Slide in the NVMe SSD → Secure with the small screw.
Close the back panel → Boot into BIOS → Make sure the SSD is detected.
Install Windows or clone
If you cloned Boot, it should load as normal.
If you didn’t: Use a bootable USB with Windows 10/11 installer → Fresh install → Activate using your existing license.
Pro Tip:
If you add an M.2 SSD, you can keep the old HDD as extra storage.
I hope this helps.

Hi,
Thank you so much for your response , I completely understand that you’d like an HP official step‑by‑step guide or video.
While HP does not provide a dedicated video tutorial for the Pavilion 15‑cs1000tx, we do offer an official Maintenance and Service Guide (MSM) for your notebook series. This manual includes step‑by‑step instructions with diagrams and pictures for removing and replacing parts like the HDD, SSD, and RAM.
Here’s how you can get it:
Go to HP Customer Support – Manuals
Enter your product name: HP Pavilion 15‑cs1000tx
Download the Maintenance and Service Guide under Manuals.
Inside, you’ll find:
Detailed disassembly steps
Screw locations and required tools
Safety precautions
Reassembly instructions
This is the official HP reference that our technicians also use.
Important:
Please follow all safety instructions in the manual.
If you’re not comfortable opening the laptop yourself, HP recommends visiting an Authorized HP Service Center for a professional upgrade to avoid damage.
I hope this helps.
