I am wanting to upgrade my IM2S3138E-128GM-B (SSD). Is this a compatible replacement?
SAMSUNG (MZ-V7S1T0B/AM) 970 EVO Plus SSD 1TB - M.2 NVMe

Your machine is a CTO machine, I can't have its REAL specs. But IM2S3138E-128GM-B is a SATA M.2 SSD which is NOT compatible with Samsung 970 EVO which is M.2 NVMe SSD drive.
From manual page 1, the series supports ONLY M.2 SATA drives. If you wish to use Samsung, you can use Samsung 860 EVO series, up to 2TB
