Hi, I read some time ago, that it is no warranty void if the SSD is removed from the notebook. Is this still valid for recent models?

In case the notebooks encounters a problem and has to be sent in, and it's not the SSD, can the SSD be removed from the notebook before sending in? In the end, this is the best level of data privacy...

I assume the disk may not be retained while in sent-in, but who guarantees data privacy?

Welcome to HP Support Community

I would like to help

It depends on the issue for which you are sending the Notebook for repair. If it's not a Hard drive related issue or nothing to do with the OS and if you have critical data then you can check with HP Support before sending the Notebook for repair and if needed you can remove the HDD.

Thank you
