I bot my HP Laptop from Costco, After the HP and Costco warranties ran out a Citi Benefits warranty started. A few months ago while opening and closing the laptop I began to notice the left bottom side of the screen was pulling away from its backing. Eventually, the screen began to crack and fall apart. I file a claim with Citi Benefits and was told I need to post this on HP's chat board and ask if HP would have covered and fixed the screen if this happened when HP's warranty was in effect. I need an HP Expert to reply if this claim would have been covered while the HP warranty was in effect. Here is the warranty wording. " To the extent permitted by local law, HP guarantees that it will repair, replace, or refund, at HP's option, an HP Hardware Product that manifests a defect in materials or workmanship during the Limited Warranty Period, if you, the end-user customer, provides HP with notice of a defect in your HP Hardware Product during the Limited Warranty Period. HP's obligation under this HP Limited Warranty, at its option, to repair, replace, or provide a refund for an HP Hardware Product that manifests a defect in materials and workmanship ceases upon the expiration of the Limited Warranty Period."
I need an HP Expert to reply that HP would have covered this repair if it happened while the HP warranty was in effect. I will then email Citi Benefits the reply so that I can get the screen fixed. Thanks.
