Hi all,
I have HP 15s laptop and the product number is 7P703PA#ACJ and serial number is 5CD32416JW.
I am not able to use my webcam since last few weeks and when I try to resolve this issue, I was uninstalled the camera driver from device manager (hide apps) and now the camera driver is not reinstalling. I had tried many times but still I am facing this issue, I don't understand what do I do. I also tried troubleshoot camera but I did not get resolution. So, help me here

Hi @Aman59684

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Here are the steps you can follow to restore the webcam functionality on your HP Laptop 15‑fd0011TU:

Check Device Manager for Hidden Devices

  • Press Windows + X and select Device Manager.
  • Click on View in the menu bar and select Show hidden devices.
  • Expand Cameras or Imaging devices. If the webcam is listed but grayed out, right‑click and choose Enable device.

Scan for Hardware Changes

  • In Device Manager, right‑click on your computer name at the top of the list.
  • Select Scan for hardware changes. This forces Windows to detect missing hardware and reinstall drivers.

Update Drivers via Windows Update

  • Open Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.
  • Click Check for updates.
  • Install any available updates, especially optional driver updates.

Install Drivers Using HP App

  • Open the HP App from the Start menu.
  • Go to Diagnostics & Drivers.
  • Run Diagnose & Fix to automatically check and reinstall missing drivers.
  • If the camera driver is available under updates, install it.

Check Privacy Settings

  • Go to Settings > Privacy & security > Camera.
  • Ensure that Camera access is turned on.
  • Verify that apps like Zoom, Teams, or Camera are allowed to use the webcam.

Test with HP Diagnostics

  • In the HP App, run a Component Test for the camera.
  • This will confirm whether the hardware is detected and functioning.

BIOS Settings Verification

  • Restart the laptop and press F10 to enter BIOS.
  • Check under Advanced or Device Configuration to ensure the integrated camera is enabled.
  • Save changes and restart.

Final Check

  • After reinstalling, open the Camera app from the Start menu.
  • Verify if the webcam is working.
  • If not, repeat the scan for hardware changes and driver installation steps.

These steps should help restore the webcam driver and functionality.
