HP 15-ba079dx laptop

I purchased 16GB of DDR3CL to upgrade the RAM on my HP 15-ba079dx laptop.  The new DDR3CL 1600Mhz 204 SODIMM slot did not match the computer's memory slot.  I asked a freind and he said it might be a DDR4 slot.  Would HP change the memory type to DDR4 and not update its specifications?

I too want to know what is on my mother board and if it is soddered on????

I have a friend that can install it for me,since he has alot of experience repairing and modifying laptops with BGA....

He needs to know if it is DDR4  and if it is onbaord????soddered...????

I cannot find out and I want to save time not opening it first....

I need to know what type of stick I need.

I only need to buy one DDR4 stick to replace the 2GB hynix DDR4....

I do not want to make the mistake of buying a stick and it is the wrong one....

Thanks in advance...

When you purchases the wrong stick,I am assuming you took it to someone who opened the laptop and saw the motherboard?

if can help me narrow down he correct RAM stick and size and type I need for this motherboard and laptop,I would be very happy.

I am posting all over and no one has the slightest idea....

Can you remember what type of stick it was to be?

and can you ask the guy you paid to install the new stick of RAM what type it was?
