My laptop is model 15-d071nr and product number F5Y31UA#ABA. What SSD can I purchase to replace the slow HDD in my notebook PC? Is NVMe the best? Does memory size of the SSD matter? What would be optimal for my laptop? Thanks in advance for your help.

Your model doesn't support M.2 NVME SSDs.
Your upgrade option is to replace the current 500 GB 2.5" hard drive with a faster 2.5" SATA SSD like this one. You can install a 1 TB or 2 TB SSD drive if you wish.
