Hi to everyone!
I would like to know if it is possible to upgrade an old notebook HP 510 with a WLAN wifi N mini PCI card? At the moment the Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG 802.11 b/g WLAN mini PCI is installed. Thank you for the attention, kind regard and a BEST and HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Hi:
Your notebook has a BIOS whitelist which prevents the installation of any wifi card not listed in chapter 3 of the service manual, from working.
There was only one model wifi card that was supported in your notebook and that is the one currently installed.
Your only option would be to purchase a dual band USB wifi adapter if you need better wifi performance.

You're very welcome.
There may be BIOS hacks out there to eliminate the whitelist, but I don't know of any or where to look.
The whitelist cannot be removed by simply doing an update.
This little guy will provide both dual band wifi + Bluetooth if you are interested, but I don't know if it will work on Linux.
Ti auguro un bellissimo 2022!
Cheers,
Paul
