Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi All

Very simply; I have had my HP Spectre Pro x360 G1in its origional configeration 128GB SSD and 4GB Ram.

I want to upgrade as I keep running out of space, so:

A)  How much ram will this Notebook support and what type?

B) A friend has recommended a Samsung 960 PRO V-NAND M.2 SSD - 512GB is this compatible?

Many thanks

Mike

Hi Mike,

The memory is soldered down on the motherboard, so it is not upgradable.

You can replace the M2 SSD with higher capacity SSD. The service manual briefly mentions PCIe SSD, however all the computers in that series came with M2 SATA SSD. Furthermore, the Samsung 960evo has given users many problems even on newer HP computers. I would get a larger M2 SATAIII SSD for the upgrade.

On page 28 of service manual you can see the steps to upgrade the SSD.

You can also look at these HP videos for that model which can help with any upgrade:

Hi Mike,

No these are the drives the laptop comes with, you can install larger capacity drive such as 1TB.
