On another forum I read, an HP representative suggested a person with the same computer type as mine use https://www.amazon.com/Kingston-Technology-1600MHz-PC3-12800-KVR16LS11/dp/B00CQ35HBQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=U... to upgrade their RAM from 4GB to 8GB. Is this product compatible with my laptop to boost my RAM, and if not, what product is?

Yes that Kingston RAM will work fine. 8 gigs will be the maximum. Your laptop has a low-end processor so it only has a single memory slot accepting up to an 8 gig module.

Hi,

Your PC supports max 8GB of DDR3L 1600Mhz RAM (1x8GB)

There is one slot. Yes, the memory you linked to will work.

On page 30 of service manual you can see the steps to upgrade RAM.

I have this laptop model as well. I've tried 3 different versions of P/N 693374-001. That's including the one from the link posted here. My laptop will not boot with any of these modules installed. Any ideas?

UPDATE...
As I've just found out, this computer was refurbished. How do I figure out what module to buy?
