Hi @Sue5451,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Thanks for sharing your situation. If your HP Pavilion laptop (model AX211NGW) is not charging, here’s a step-by-step guide to help you figure out whether the issue is with the chargerbattery, or the laptop itself:

1. Perform a Hard Reset

This clears temporary glitches.

  • Turn off the laptop.
  • Unplug the charger and remove any external devices.
  • Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds.
  • Plug the charger back in and try turning it on.

2. Check the Charger

  • Make sure you're using the correct HP charger for your model.
  • Look for any fraying, bent pins, or damage on the cable or connector.
  • Try a different wall outlet.
  • If possible, test with another compatible HP charger.

3. Run HP Battery Check

HP provides a tool to test your battery and charger:

  • Visit: HP Battery Check: Fix laptop battery not charging | HP® Support
  • Download and run the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics tool.
  • It will give you a battery health report and a failure ID if something’s wrong.

    4. Check for Charging Light
  • When you plug in the charger, look for a charging LED near the port.
    • Amber/orange = charging.
    • White = fully charged.
    • No light = possible charger or port issue.

5. Update BIOS and Drivers

  • Go to Official HP® Support.
  • Enter your model number and install any BIOS or power management updates.

I hope this helps.

Take care, and have an amazing day!
