What chargers are compatible with this laptop?
I need a second charger so that I don't have to rip the power brick out of my desk every time I leave the house. I can't find any info in the manual about what chargers are compatible and for some reason the laptop won't charge over USB-C. I've tried four separate USB-C wall adapters and none of them work -- sometimes the charging indicator will briefly show the plug symbol in Windows but it immediately goes away. Weirdly, portable batteries seem to charge it fine even though none of my wall adapters do.

Hi:
Referring to the HP parts list for the model series, it appears you need:
710412-001 | Smart AC power adapter (65 watt) - 4.5mm barrel connector, non-power factor correcting (NPFC) - Requires 3-wire AC power cord with C5 connector |
When sold new from HP the adapter and power cord that goes from the wall socket to the adapter are sold separately.
L19367-001 | Power cord - C5 connector, 1.0m long, STK Conv (North America) |
HP Parts Store - HP Computer Parts - HP Printer Parts - Compaq Parts
What I suggest you do is to go in eBay and find a used but tested and working genuine HP power adapter.
Those normally will also come with the power cord.
Search by the HP part number.
