What does USB-a (Data Only) port mean? Can you plug in a USB-a to HDMI adapter? I am trying to connect a 2nd external monitor. I have already tried using the USB-c port with a USB-c to HDMI adapter, but it does not recognize the devise. The spec shows the USB-c port as a data only port. I assume that means it cannot accept a video signal. I am assuming the USB-a (data only) port means the same thing. Is this correct, and if so is there any way to connect a 2nd external monitor to my laptop?

Basically is is a normal USB-A port, that is correct. If you wish to use it for an external monitor you can use a Displaylink Certified USB-A to HDMI adapter such as
