Hi, I have an issue when upgrading the storage for my Elitebook 640 G9 laptop. Both the manual and here say we can install a 2230 M.2 type SSD to the WWAN slot, but I found 2230 is too short!!! So is it 2242 SSD that actually fits? Many thxThis is the 2230 SSD, it doesn' t fit

I would suggest you install the M.2 2230 firmly into the slot and boot into Windows. Go to Disk Management and check if Windows recognizes the M.2 2230 in pre initialization state.
If Windows recognize it, you can possibly keep it and get an M.2 2230 to 2242 extender adaptor from an online vendor, something like this:
