Probook 4330s

Hello, i have hp probook 4330s with i3 2330M and want to upgrade it to i7.

I read that i7 2620M is the only officially supported i7 proccesor. Are there any other i7 proccesors supported ? Is there any way that it supports quad core i7 ?

Thank you

Your HP ProBook 4330s, according to: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c03054507.pdf, is fitted with the HP 167E motherboard.  Like you said, the i7-2620M is 'officially' listed as the fastest processor.

However, looking here: https://www.userbenchmark.com/System/HP-ProBook-4330s/3579, we find the following compatible Intel i7 processors:

i7-2640M
i7-2670QM
i7-2760QM

[EDIT:] There are likely additional Intel i7 processors which are compatible with your ProBook, the point is that the aforementioned UserBenchMark link is proof-positive that these additional i7 processors do indeed work.

Hope this was helpful.

Thank you so much for your response !

Should i send you some other motherboard informations or some serial number to verify that it is 100% compatible ?

And i have 65w adapter and the processor itself draws 45w. Will i need 90w adapter ?

Thank you.

@_Rici_,

That is a very good observation: yes, once you run a processor that pulls 10 more watts of power, upgrading you power supply from a 45-watt to a 90-watt unit would be an excellent idea.  The manual does mention a 90-watt power supply with a 7.4mm x 5.0mm connector, which ends up being HP p/n: L40098-001 ("90W AC ADPTR PFC SMART 3P").

You can purchase an equivalent/matching power supply very inexpensively -under $10 in fact, such as this purchase example: https://www.ebay.com/itm/234913605800?epid=18022430980&hash=item36b1f128a8:g:K8UAAOSwft1j~DAU&amdata....
