What is the voltage and ampere rating for the AC adapter for the HP Pavillion dv6-2173cl laptop.?
I read the manual and it says 90W adapter, but nothing about voltage or amperage.
I see some website are claiming the that 19V @4.74 Amps is the replacement adapter for this model. However other websites are claiming that 18.5W @6.5 Amps is the genuine substitute. I have also seen AC adapters with 19.5V rating as a suggested replacement. Anyone knows for sure what is the original voltage and ampere rating of the orginal AC adapter for the dv6-2173cl?
Also, in the replacement parts listing, hp recommends to replace it with 120W ac adapter. That is another question I want to ask. What is the power rating on this adapter: 90W per HP's manual or 120W per HP replacement part suggestion?
Thanks!

Hi,
Please keep or bookmark the following information:
http://partsurfer.hp.com/Search.aspx?SearchText=WA782UA
The original one was AC Smart power adapter (90 watt) - 100-240VAC input, 47-63Hz - 19.0VDC output, 4.74A, 90 watts, with power factor correction (PFC)
You can't buy the original one now therefore you can buy the one with 19V @4.74 Amps . 18.5W @6.5 Amps is OK since machine accepts voltage +/- 3% to 5%.
Regards.

Thank you very much, @banhien!! This was exactly what I was looking for.
Yeah, I looked through the HP site before but could not locate, the subdomain partsurfer.hp.com and found it strange there was no information from hp. But with the url you gave me it all makes sense. One thing for sure: I suppose I was not looking hard enough. 🙂
Thank a million for help and a clarification!!
Best wishes,
