Hello;

Allow me to welcome you to the HP forums!

Sorry but I don't understand your reference to a "port" for the hard drive.  A "port" is typically a connector on the case of a laptop that you plug a cables of some sort into.  And, in that sense, there is no "port" for the hard drive.

This link is to the Service and Maintenance Guide for your PC: http://h20566.www2.hp.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?sp4ts.oid=5271152&docId=emr_na-c03404932&docLocale...

Hard drive information, along with the instructions for replacing it, begin on page 37.  Understand, though, that this is not a remove-the-cover, simple operation; instead, you have to disassemble the laptop.  Unless you are experienced doing this, my recommendation is that you have the drive replacement done at an HP Service Center.

Here is information on the Service Centers:  http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c00372730?jumpid=reg_r1002_usen_c-001_title_r0004

Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:

Good Luck
