HP 255 G6 Notebook PC

I am using an HP 255 G6 (4qw03ea) model laptop.

I want to increase the amount of memory, but I couldn't get the right information.

The AMD A6-9225 processor writes in the specifications of this processor as supporting one memory.

There are two slots on the motherboard. One of them comes with a factory-installed DDR4 4 GB memory. I wanted to add another one from the same memory, but when I researched it, I realized that it supports one.

I don't know if it's true.

If it supports one, how many GB of memory can I remove the old memory and add it instead?

Hi:

Chapter 1 of the service manual indicates that 1 x 8 GB of memory is the max in each memory slot (if your notebook has two).

The Crucial memory report for your notebook indicates it will support 2 x 8 GB of memory.

Thanks for the answer.

So if I buy the same memory module and add it to the second slot, will it work?

You're very welcome.

As long as you can install memory in the second slot, yes, it should work fine.

You can run this command to confirm how much memory your notebook will support:

1. In the search box, search for cmd and click Run as administrator.

This will open the command prompt.

2. After the command prompt is opened, type wmic memphysical get maxcapacityEx and press the Enter key.

There, it will show the maximum RAM capacity your PC's motherboard can support.

The capacity is shown as Kilobytes, so you have to convert it to Gigabytes by dividing the number provided in the report by 1,048,576.
