Hello,

I would like to upgrade my laptop RAM.

My laptop support PC3L 12800S DDR3 RAM. The Ram which comes pre-installed with the laptop it's have 1Rx8 PC3L 12800S type of memory.

So, I would like to upgrade the RAM and I order the order the same, but sadly I got 2Rx8 type of RAM instead of 1Rx8 but other details are same.

So can anyone please give me details what's the difference between 1Rx8 vs 2Rx8?

Can I install the 2Rx8 ram along with 1Rx8 ram?

Is there any power loss or performance drop happen if I mix 2Rx8 and 1Rx8?

Thanks,

Sujay

The bottom line is yes, you can combine the two.

I recommend Crucial memory since they guarantee compatiblility.
