Linux

Hi, I was reading through the repair PDF for my laptop (http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c05985643). While reading this I noticed that there were two types of system boards for every configuration, one for Widows and one for non-Windows.

What is the difference between these two? I use Linux most of the time so I would like to know if I could get a better experience by swapping the system board with one listed as non-windows

Hi:

The difference is that the non-Windows system boards have no Windows product keys in the BIOS.

Other than that, there is no difference.

I would imagine the non-Windows system board may cost a little less since it doesn't have the Windows product key.
