I will like to know the difference between the 8760w and 8770w's motherboard .

Because my 8770w motherboard died and after taking it to a local technician he got it replaced with the 8760w motherboard and the problem is i had already upgraded my old CPU on my 8770w from an Intel Core i5 3360m to a 3630qm i7 and now I've collected my machine from the technician and when i was home i realized it was a 2nd gen CPU (i7-2620m) which i really dislike cause it feels like a downgrade. So i was wondering if i transfer my (i7 3630qm)  to the 8760w's motherboard will it work without issues? Please i urgently need a response

Hi:

No Intel 3rd generation core processor will work in the 8760w motherboard.

They only support the Intel 2nd gen core processors.

See the 8760w service manual for the list of supported processors.

Thank you very much i appreciate your fast reply

I'm guessing I'll just have to get a new 8770w instead if i want a 3rd gen cpu on it👍🏾

You're very welcome.

Yes, that is correct.
