Hi! I would like to know what the difference between these 2 USB ports is and how that corresponds to their speed:


USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C™ with Thunderbolt™ 3 (40 Gb/s signaling rate)

and

Thunderbolt™ 3 (Data Transfer up to 40 Gb/s)

 

Do both support theoretical data write/read speed up to 40 Gb/s? What is the difference between data transfer and signaling rate?
