I have an HP 15 da 0073 laptop, currently running a core i5 processor.
I want to know if I can upgrade it to an i7 and meet the requirements for the new windows update.

Hi:
You would have to replace the motherboard with one listed in chapter 3 of your notebook's service manual that comes with an Intel 8th gen core processor.
HP 15 Laptop PC Maintenance and Service Guide
That would cost about as much as buying a W11 compatible notebook.
This does not necessarily mean you can't install W11 on your PC, but you would have to perform a clean install and reinstall all of your programs and files.
If you want to see if W11 works on your PC, you can make a bootable W11 USB installer from the link below.
https://www.microsoft.com/en-in/software-download/windows11
See this article. 3rd headline from the bottom.
If for some reason, W11 does not work correctly on your PC, you can reinstall W10.
I currently have W11 clean installed on two PC's that I have, that do not meet the requirements for the W11 upgrade and they both work fine on W11 so far.

You're very welcome.
I am waiting to see what happens when Microsoft starts issuing security updates and whatnot, before I decide to convert any of my other non-Windows 11 capable PC's to W11.
Right now, my PC's are working fine and getting the normal daily Windows defender updates.
