HP 15q APU Dual Core A9 - (4 GB/1 TB HDD/Windows 10 Home/2 GB Graphics) (15q-by002AX)

Hello,

I would like to upgrade my HP Laptop's RAM by adding a second RAM. I would like to know whether I can add a second RAM or not?

What is the max RAM supported by two RAMs together?

What is the max Frequency supported?

Can I add RAM of any manufacturer or I need to buy a specific manufacturer RAM?

Laptop: HP 15q APU Dual Core A9 - (4 GB/1 TB HDD/Windows 10 Home/2 GB Graphics) 15q-by002AX Laptop  (15.6 inch, SParkling Black, 1.86 kg)

Model: 15q-by002AX

Part Number: 2TZ85PA#ACJ

Thanks,

Arjun

Hi:

Below is the link to the crucial memory report for your model.

https://www.crucial.com/usa/en/compatible-upgrade-for/HP-Compaq/hp-15q-by002ax

2 x 8 GB for a total of 16 GB of memory is supported.

You do not need to buy the same brand of memory that HP used in your notebook.

Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook, where you can find the memory removal and replacement procedure.

http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c05493256

According to the manual, the memory will run at a max frequency of 1866 MHz.

Thanks for the quick response. Just clarifying one more thing.

If I add a 2400Mgz SODIMM RAM, will it support the system or will it cause any issue?

I was planning to buy "Crucial 8GB DDR4 1.2V 2400Mhz CL17 SODIMM RAM"

You're very welcome.

If the crucial part number you posted is one of those listed in that crucial link I posted yesterday, then you should be fine.
