Hello there. I have a HP Pavilion g6 2216-st model notebook, and I'd like to upgrade the RAM to 16GBs. What is the maximum amount of RAM that my notebook's motherboard can support? Thank you.

Hi:
I can't find any specs on your notebook.
The service manual for the model series indicates that 2 x 4 GB is the max.
However, notebooks with an Intel processor and chipset may be able to run 2 x 8 GB of memory.
This would be the best way to find out if it is possible to install 2 x 8 GB of memory...
1. In the Windows search box, search for cmd and click Run as administrator. This will open the command prompt.
2. Once the command prompt is open, type wmic memphysical get maxcapacity and hit enter. There, it will show the maximum RAM capacity your PC's motherboard can support.
The capacity is shown as Kilobytes, so you have to convert it as follows...
Gigabytes = Kilobytes ÷ 1,048,576

You're very welcome.
I recommend you get this 8 GB memory module if you want to upgrade to 16 GB.
Crucial 8GB DDR3L-1600 SODIMM | CT102464BF160B | Crucial.com
It is the equivalent to the 4 GB Crucial memory module that is supported in your notebook.
