Good afternoon.
What is the maximum DDR4 RAM that an HP 15-db0234ur laptop can be installed?
HP - 15-db0234ur laptop
Product
4MP22EAR
Serial number
[Personal Information Removed]
Now 8 GB frequency 1866 is installed.
Will a laptop with DDR4 16 GB with a frequency of 2600 work?
Please answer.
Thank you very much.

Welcome to our HP User Forum!
The answer how much RAM and at what max RAM speed your laptop can run, depends on your motherboard and its processor.
Please take a look at this table and determine what applies to your laptop: up to 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2400 MHz dual channel support if you got an AMD Ryzen or Intel Athlon processor, or 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-1866 MHz dual RAM support if you got an AMD A9 processor, and up to 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR4-1866 MHz RAM if you got an E2/A4/A6 processor:

16 Gb was not even prefigured by the service and maintenance manual of my model, in any hardware configuration (A4, A6, A9, E2, R3) regardless of the number of slots but I bought it anyway and it worked

Let's resolve this question once and for all by trusting on the facts and the evidence.
Please type in: cmd in your Windows search bar, then right-click on the Command Prompt App, and left-click on "Run as administrator", and click on "Yes" to confirm.
Then copy/paste/enter the following command exactly as shown here:
wmic memphysical get maxcapacity
You should see something like this (using my PC):
Whatever number you get, divide it by 1024 and then again by 1024. For my computer I got this: 67108864 ÷ 1024 ÷ 1024 = 64. The "64" is the max number of GB's my desktop can accept.
This way you can calculate if your laptop accepts 8GB (if you got: 8388608), or 16GB (if you got: 16777216).
Hope this was helpful.

I just checked that on mine and the response is the same 67108864 with 8 Gb or with 16 Gb so-dimm in the socket, accurate because the memory actually installed doesn't affect the response

My response wasn't directed to you, but to @15-db0234ur.
After all, this is the OP ("Original Poster") I am assisting.
