HP Pavilion Desktop - TP01-1137c
Microsoft Windows 11

I was wondering if I am able to fit an RTX 3050 6GB (70w TDP I think, correct me if I'm wrong) in my TP01 1137c and whether or not because the motherboard is able to support the amount of power draw from said 3050 6gb.  I talked with somebody and they said they weren't sure about the exact wattage of the GPU slot, in which answering my question would determine what sort of graphics card I'm able to fit in my HP Pavilion 1137c and what sort of gaming potential i can get out of my pc from upgrading.  I am hoping for answer soon before Black Friday or Cyber Monday so I know what to buy to upgrade my pc, as the RX 550 isn't cutting it and I want to know what is the max performance I can possibly get from it in terms of gaming.

           Thank you.

Hi @RandomPcNerd

this is determined by the power supply, you have a 310 watt power supply, according to NVIDIA for a RTX 3050 of 70 watt TDP you need a 300 watt power supply, so it is within the requirements and you can use it.

I know that my PSU can handle it, I just need to know if the PCIe slot itself can handle it, because the guy I talked to said it "might be" a 50w slot OR a 75w rated slot since it only came with an RX 550 which is exactly a 50w card. I just need to know how much power the PCIe slot is able to give to the GPU.

@Resistencia

            Because you kind-of answered my question but at the same time didn't. I need to know the exact power through the PCIe slot so that I can know if the RTX 3050 6GB will fry my motherboard or not

It is a data that does not exist on the part of HP, and the GPU is not changed according to the power of energy, if you have a graphics card that needs 75 watts the minimum is a PSU of 300 watts, that is the solution the other you ask will not help anything

@Resistencia Alright thanks for letting me know that the PCIe slot is a regular 75 watt one.
