Hi, my laptop always feels fairly hot. A core temp application gives me 50-60C consistently with light internet browsing. My core is a i7-8650U. Is this normal?

Does it have dedicated GPU ? It is a bit high. My machine is much lower (after around 3 hours with Firefox)
We are in Winter now but my room is around 17°C. I use Firefox nearly 100% on this Forum.
Regards.

Yeah, it comes with a GPU. It is summer here, but regardless of the temperature it is always about the same. I have the fan set to always on, and I even used one of those compressed air bottles to clean the fan. For some reason it also has terrible battery life. Perhaps 2 to 3 hours on battery saving mode. I am not sure if that has any relation to the issue. I also have it set on a laptop pad that includes two fans.

I recommend you update the BIOS and the graphics driver from the below link and check if it helps.

Follow the steps in the below article and run a system test to make sure all the hardware components are working fine.

It all passed well:
One thing I forgot to mention is that I was using the ultraslim dock and I have two other monitors hooked up. However, today I tried using the laptop on its own and there was negligible temperature difference. Removing the ultraslim dock also allowed for my laptop pad's fans to blow directly into the laptop. The temperature dropped less than 5 degrees, although if I was to say conservatively, just 2 degrees(celsius). I also tried terminating all the user processes possible(chrome was the big one) the temp immediately dropped 10 degrees to an avg of 45C.
