What is the SATA interface version of this laptop ODD (motherboard interface not ODD drive) is that SATA 3 or SATA 2
I need to replace ODD using an SSD (Samsung 860 Evo 250GB). therefore I need to aware which version is the ODD drive connecting interface
HDD connecting interface is SATA3
what would be the ODD connecting interface?

HP does not make that information availble easily but in most cases it is no faster then SATA-II. You can check it using something like Sisoft Sandra. Generally you will not get your money's worth putting an SSD in an optical bay adapter. It will not run at its full potential speed so you might as well use an inexpensive mechanical drive. To be fair, we have seen in a few cases that SSDs placed in an ODD adapter run at full speed and are bootable but not your model I do not believe.

That's the way to do it. Actually a HDD can benefit from SATA-3 but will not lose as much running on a SATA-II port as an SSD will. You want to put your best piece of hardware in the fastest position. Kind of like sports
