Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello, I recently received my new HP Envy 13t, but I was perplexed by the weird flaps underneath each of my usb-c ports. I find it a bit cumbersome to have to open up the ports every time I want to plug something in. Any idea what these are for? Design or utility choice?alksfjse.jpg

There is a USB-C next to it. They used to put that kind of door on big business class laptops to cover the ethernet port. The doors tended to break off, though. That door looks very robust and my guess is it is a cover to prevent dust and such getting in. The Manual just says there are USB ports under the flap. Are they USB 3.0 (rectangular old school) or another USB-C like the one to the right of it?

Sorry, my bad. I confused the old usb (3.0) with the newer usb-c.

The one partially covered by the flap is an usb 3.0. However it doesn't close all the way so I don't think it's used to trap dust and particles.
