Hey,
What is upgradable on HP Pavilion Gaming 5-dk0056wm? It is:
HP Pavilion Gaming Laptop
a) 1x8GB 2666 DDR4 RAM
b) 256 GB NVMe SSD
c) nVidia GeForce GTX 1650 DDR5 4GB
a) What is the biggest system RAM module I can add? 4 modules of 1x16GB DDR4 2666? or 4 modules of 1x32GB DDR4 2666? Or only 2 RAM modules each?
b) I guess any PCIe NVMe x3 of any size gigabytes or terabytes will work? Like a 2TB NVMe SSD?
c) Of those which are upgradable? It's be great if they all were. The prospect of a newer and less power hungry nVidia GEForce RTX 30XX Q-Max GPU based on Ampere design in such a laptop is very nice.
Is anything else upgradable that's noteworthy and helps performance of the laptop a lot?
Thanks!

Is it an HP Pavilion Gaming - 15-dk0056wm ? Its specs
https://support.hp.com/lv-en/document/c06655486
1. RAM: 8 GB DDR4-2666 SDRAM (1 x 8 GB) now. It only has 2 slots of RAM. You can upgrade to
(a) 16GB: using same existing RAM or the following compatible RAM:
https://www.crucial.com/memory/ddr4/ct8g4sfs8266/ct16330040
(b) 32GB using following compatible RAM
https://www.crucial.com/memory/ddr4/ct2k16g4sfd8266/ct16330110
(c) 64GB (2 x 32GB) but I can't find suitable RAM for you
2. STORAGE: You have 2 options
(a) Replace 256 GB PCIe® NVMe™ M.2 SSD to a larger (capacity) drive using
https://www.samsung.com/au/memory-storage/970-evo-nvme-m2-ssd/MZ-V7E2T0BW/
https://www.crucial.com/products/ssd/crucial-p2-ssd
https://www.crucial.com/products/ssd/crucial-p5-ssd
Or similar from reputable vendors.
One example
https://www.crucial.com/ssd/p5/ct1000p5ssd8/ct18135492
(b) Add 2.5" SATA HDD/SSD to your machine but you need
The hard drive cable is available using spare part number L56898-001
The hard drive brackets are not available as a spare part (this is the killer)
2. VIDEO CARD: No you can't, you have to replace with a whole new System Board If available) which contains
(a) New motherboard,
(b) New CPU with iGPU,
(c) New GPU (if available)
(d) New Windows license (you can't reuse old license).
Because all 4 components above are on one piece of hardware called System Board.
Regards.

Yes, that is the model.
So it is as I thought. The video card can't be upgraded but that is fine.
I am happy to hear I can upgrade the NVMe M.2 SSD to as large a capacity as they make although 2TB is more than plenty and especially glad to hear RAM can be upgraded to 64GB although when it becomes available and available at a price I can afford I'll not guess. It's quite excellent for now that I can upgrade to 32GB RAM for less than $150.
Thanks very much!
