Hello!

My laptop is:

HP Pavilion 15-n005sr

It has:  AMD A10-4655M APU with Radeon(tm) HD Graphics4GB Kingston 1333MHz (1 slot out of 2 available), motherboard 216C 30.26.

I want to upgrade my RAM. I want to know, what maximum possible amount of memory I can install on my laptop.

As far as I suppose, there are two possible answers: 8GB and 16GB (maybe).

What could you advice to me for increasing my amount of RAM to maximum?

Also, can I be sure that, for example, these particular modules will work in my laptop:

  • 8 GB RAM, 1 Module
  • DDR3L, 1333 MHz (PC3-10600)
  • SO-DIMM 204 Pin, CL9
  • 8 GB RAM, 1 Module
  • DDR3L, 1333 MHz (PC3-10600)
  • SO-DIMM 204 Pin, CL9

As I can see, there is only modules by 8GB maximum exist for my specs, am I right? So, I guess, for my laptop 16GB of RAM is the limit.

Thank you for your replies!

Hi,

It supports max 16GB of DDR3L 1600MHz RAM (2x8GB) even if service manual states 12GB

You can use RAM from your preferred brand

Example:

https://www.crucial.com/usa/en/compatible-upgrade-for/HP-Compaq/pavilion-15-n005sa#MEMORYFilters

So, yes, the two RAMs you linked will work.

Hope it helps,

David

Thank you very much!

I will buy 2 modules of 8GB 1600MHz.

I also have made a call to local HP support today. They has reffered to Maintenance and Service Guide, which I've already read. But the thing is that I kinda hoped, that I could get 16GB fo RAM in my laptop. And the dude from support said, that they guarantee working of 12GB. I asked about 16GB - he said, probably, but not guaranteed. I'm sure, that two 8GB modules will work just fine.

So your reply has made it all clear for me!

Thanks a lot! Have a good day!
