Hi, I have a faulty motherboard, part no 430196-001, Intel 945GM.

I did a little research and found out that buying the same motherboard again, could be quite expensive.

Laptop is old enough...10 years old!

Are there any other options, to install a different motherboard?

Thank you all for viewing!!

Right now they are doing upgrades to the website so manuals are not available but I think yours is out of the date range for support. Other motherboards you can install would have to have been alternate offerings on the same model series; dv5000. From a quick look it appears the dv5000 and dv8000 series used the same motherboards.

This one for $11.00 on eBay would work. It is GeForce MX 440 video instead of the ATI on your board. May require a different fan/heatsink but will plug into the chassis and work.

eBay has several different heatsink options for sale:

And here is your motherboard for $20 shipped:

Hi Provost, thank you very much for your reply.

Yes I 'm aware of these 2 motherboards. already seen them on ebay.

They are really cheap, but the shipment costs are really bugging me, because I live in Greece, so I have to pay extra $50..

I was wondering if there was something else I could buy, from Europe or China.

I accept your answer as a solution to my problem and would like to thank you again for them time you spent for me!!

Have a good time!!!

Even to come out of it for $70 is going to be tough to beat. Did you check eBay Germany?
